Transom
Description
Transoms are the transverse horizontal load bearing members of the scaffold. Made from two lengths of 50mm X 50mm angle iron welded back to back forming an inverted “T” section with banana transom ends assemble at each end.
Automatic basing out/transverse spacing is afforded by transoms, which come in four basic lengths of 2.4M, 1.8M, 1.2M and 0.7M which provide 10, 7, 5 and 3 board platforms respectively. A 1.2M return transom is available for flush deck right angle corners where appropriate.
Transoms have been tested at central point loads as per requirements of Australian Standards. The inverted “T” transom provides a captive, flush deck.
